Back then (Holly)

When Holly was young, she wanted to be a villain. Whether it was an evil queen, a blood-sucking vampire, a terrible ghost, an insanely powerful girl  to take over the earth or a witch ready to place a curse. She acted the lot. With her vast group of friends in which she spent most time being crazy and 'playing'.
But it wasn't just a childish game. As long as it was play time they WERE their characters, and Holly WAS an evil vampire queen witch thing from outer-space to enslave humanity with a yellow circle.
(This yellow circle was a small circle on the playground of her primary school. The other children would say that if they went in there they would be under Holly's mind control. Seriously, that part is true!)
She was an invincible, powerful, evil, supreme being. But when the bell went, she would be the cleverest girl as well. Well, second cleverest, next to her arch-nemesis.
He and her were always competing secretly in class. Who could answer the most correct questions, who could be praised the most from the teacher and so on. They were rivals, but friends. Unlike Holly,  her rival aspired to be a comedian, and enjoy each others company as he told jokes and she tried not to laugh.
Anyway, her best friend, Mecha, always was jealous of her. But they were best-friends-forever-and-ever-no-matter-what.
But Mecha was a selfish girl, a liar, so everyone knew, but the teachers always believed her lies, no matter how far fetched. Mecha and Holly started arguing, fighting (literally) and forgetting all else in order to argue more. Mecha was always protective and a bit too attached to Holly. Her two other friends Leo, who was a girl and Aloe, had to move class a year later, and Holly was stuck with Mecha.
After an incident with an arm in a sling and two instances of no sympathy, Holly and Mecha's friendship ended with Holly screaming in a field and Mecha on her knees, crying.

Holly looked for new friends, like Leo and Aloe had done after they had moved class. Holly found a friend called Meshia. Meshia had two other friends, one was kind and fair, the other disliked Holly. Meshia began to gossip, giving away Holly's secrets. Holly was the geeky one. She had friends, sure, but they weren't good ones. Meshia was also possessive of Holly and didn't let her hang out with Leo and Aloe.
Holly moved house, starting a 'new' life in a new place. But a few memories remained... most still haunt her... but the one that haunts her most is not keeping in touch with her good, real friends and keeping in to touch with Meshia and friends like that.
But there was one friend in her new life, who used to have all the problems she had too.

'what the hell's going on can someone tell me please, why I'm switching faster than the colours on TV.'
